Leuven:
Winter Lights

Dressed in the warm glow of Christmas lights, the university city of Leuven never feels cold this time of year. The streets filled with chatter and laughter. Full of life but not busy, never hectic, as the 100,000 people wrapped head to toe in scarves and jackets take the dark intimate nights their own pace.

The cobbled paths hide rows of cafes and restaurants where family and friends gather in open squares and behind misty windows, exchanging greetings and stories as the flames of the year settle to fervent embers.

"Another Stella"

The Christmas markets commence on the 9th, adding to the regular Saturday market.

In the Glow

Capturing Leuven is a story of stone and light. The bath of light from the glowing street lamps and rows of festive fairy bulbs leave almost no pockets of darkness between the cobbled paths, as the imposing broadsides of the buildings become a canvas for the shadow puppets.
